چکیده
Lameness, one of the most important disorders in dairy industry, is related to postpartum diseases and has an effect on cow welfare, leading changes cows' daily behavioral variables. This study quantified lameness time budget cows transition period. In total, 784 multiparous from 8 commercial Dutch farms were visually scored their locomotion (score 1–5) body condition 1–5). Each was early late dry period as well wk 4 postpartum. Cows with scores 1 2 grouped together nonlame, score 3 considered moderately lame, 5 severely lame. equipped types sensors that measured parameters. The leg sensor provided number steps, stand-ups (moving lying standing), time, bouts, bout length. neck eating length, rumination Sensor data for each parameter averaged between d before after scoring. percentage nonlame decreased 63% 46% at lactation; this decrease more severe higher parity. calved autumn had highest odds lameness. Body loss >0.75 point lactation associated Moderately lame a reduction around 20 min, whereas almost 40 min. Similarly, showed 200 steps/d, 600 steps/d. Daily increased by 26 min length compared cows. These results indicate high prevalence farms, increase into lactation. Time budgets differed lactating period, (increased lameness) having complete profile. poor postpartum, resulted less lactation, creating harmful cycle.

Evaluation of body condition score measured throughout lactation as an indicator of fertility in dairy cattle.
Body condition score (BCS) records of primiparous Holstein cows were analyzed both as a single measure per animal and as repeated measures per sire of cow. The former resulted in a single, average, genetic evaluation for each sire, and the latter resulted in separate genetic evaluations per day of lactation. Repeated measure analysis yielded genetic correlations of less than unity between days ...
متن کاملCausal Relationships Between Milk Yield, Body Condition Score and Fertility in Italian Holstein Friesian Dairy Cattle
The aim of the study was to explore genetic relationship among milk yield, body condition score (BCS) and pregnancy status (PR) in Italian Holstein cows using a recursive effects model. Two recursive models and a multiple-trait model were compared in four different subsets of data. The antagonistic effect of milk yield on BCS and PR was confirmed, as well as the positive relationship between BC...
متن کاملInfluence of Body Condition Score on Yield and Composition of Milk in Crossbred Dairy Cows
The study was carried out for a period of 150 days on 120 Holstein Friesian crossbred dairy cows between mid to late lactation to quantify the influence of body condition score (BCS) on yield and composition of milk. Total 12 dairy farms having same housing systems and holding at least 20 crossbred dairy cows per farm between mid to late lactation were selected for this study purposes. BCS of i...
متن کاملAssociations of the Dietary Diversity Score and Food Variety Score with Serum Magnesium and Ferritin Status
Introduction: Dietary diversity score (DDS) and Food variety score (FVS) are the appropriate measures used to evaluate the overall quality of dietary patterns. However, their associations with the serum levels of micronutrients remain unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the correlations between DDS/FVS and serum ferritin and magnesium status in the non-athlete femal...
متن کاملAssociations between the time of conception and the shape of the lactation curve in early lactation in Norwegian dairy cattle
BACKGROUND This study was carried out to determine if an association exists between the shape of the lactation curve before it is influenced by the event of conception and the time from calving to conception in Norwegian dairy cattle. Lactation curves of Norwegian Red cows during 5 to 42 days in milk (DIM) were compared between cows conceiving between 43 and 93 DIM and cows conceiving after 93 ...
